Our ideal candidate is someone who has the dedication drive and ambition to succeed and has a hunger to progress. You will need to understand the responsibility of the role and the commitment that working in the Dental Health Industry requires. As a trainee dental nurse you will be required to complete either a dental apprenticeship such as NVQ Level 3 or to undertake the NEBDN Dental Nurse Training Course and achieve a pass at the end of the course (or other equivalent recognised course). This is a commitment that you need to understand and be prepared for. On completion this involves your becoming registered as a Dental Nurse and the responsibilities for this also involve individuals maintaining your registration and the CPD (Continued Professional Development) requirements with the GDC.
Ongoing CPD is mandatory for all qualified dental nurses. The applicant should be confident in presenting themselves, excellent communication skills and a confident speaker, be able to liaise confidently with patients and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure all our patients are given a 5-star service that we pride ourselves in doing. Meeting deadlines, being conscientious, forward thinking and working with targets is an essential part of the role. The ability to use your own initiative, ensuring that our protocols, policies, and practice standards are complied with. Previous customer service industry experience is preferred but not essential, full training for the right candidate will be provided.
Dental Nurses are required to assist chairside during all general dental procedures and specialist cosmetic, restorative and implant procedures being chairside with the clinician. Responsible for the daily cross-infection control & decontamination duties following our strict COVID-19/CQC protocols and policies. Your role will also involve reception/telephone duties. In-House training and support are provided. DBS and Identity checks are mandatory.
Please understand that your role is predominantly chairside as a Dental Nurse assisting the Clinician/Hygienist, but this role will also involve reception duties and other clinical duties and tasks according to the needs of the business. You will be required to work on your own initiative and cover the reception desk competently. A well spoken and written English understanding is essential along with a good level of spelling and grammar when answering telephone calls/taking payments/recording confidential data/computer skills/good telephone manner. Excellent customer service skills will be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday – 08.30 – 17.30. Alternate Saturdays will be required (non negotiable 2/4). 8.30 -14.00.
