IN-SURGERY WHITENING

At Westwood Dental Practice we’ve invested in the state-of-the-art Philips Zoom! system, which uses a high-tech lamp to accelerate the whitening process so that the treatment can be completed in just 60 minutes.

  • Why choose Philips Zoom!?

Phillips Zoom! is a great option if you are tight on time and want results fast. The system uses a WhiteSpeed lamp to accelerate the bleaching process, so that teeth can be lightened by up to six shades in just 60 minutes.

  • What happens during the Philips Zoom! treatment?

After safely covering your lips and gums, your dentist will apply Zoom! hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth and activate the Zoom! light. These work together to break down stains and discolouration. Three 15-minute sessions of light activation will follow, during which time you will need to lie still. Afterwards, a fluoride paste-gel is applied to the teeth to combat sensitivity.

  • Will Philips Zoom! teeth whitening hurt?

No – it’s been clinically proven as a safe, pain-free and effective whitening method, with very few patients reporting any tooth sensitivity at all.

  • How long will the results last?

The effects of your Philips Zoom! treatment will last until your teeth become stained again – and that length of time will depend on how well you clean your teeth, the amount of staining foods and drink you consume, and lifestyle factors such as smoking. Your dentist will talk you through how best to maintain your new bright smile, and provide you with a take-home treatment for occasional whitening top-ups.
